Where and when

Möysä Primary School is situated on a beautiful site on the southvest shore of Lake Joutjärvi . The location offers the school some special opportunities for outdoor activities.

The school was founded in 1906 and an additional building was completed in 1928. A new extension to the original building was built in 1936.

Who and how many

Being a primary school our pupils are between 7 and 12. Nowadays there are nine classes one of which is for immigrants only. At the moment we have about 250 pupils and 20 staff members teaching and taking care of these pupils.

Our goal

The curriculum of Möysä school emphasises the importance of profound learning of basics. In order to achieve this aim we use varying teaching and learning methods. Having regular parent-teacher conferences is a modern and fruitful way to strengthen the good understanding between the school and homes. We also believe it is important to learn good manners and social skills to lay a firm foundation for a student´s future.
